History of Art
Art is one of the oldest forms of communication known to mankind. It can be traced back to Paleolithic times, where art was used to represent the world around them. As people developed more complex tools and means of making things, art became more important to them and they began to display their artistic prowess like George Koutalas in the form of sculpting or painting. The development of printing later on made it easier for people to create and communicate their works of art.
Art has been one of the cornerstones of culture since the beginning of time. This evolution is a continuous one and has changed little from the start of writing. Art is not as common today as it was centuries ago but that does not make it irrelevant. In fact, art is one of the best ways we can express ourselves, and one way we can connect with others.
Art and culture go hand in hand. People have been visualizing for millions of years and have been creating art for millions of years. It is something we all have in common.
Art can be defined according to which areas of human history have the most influence. Since the beginning of recorded history, art has played a major role in society. Art has been a key part of civilization ever since people first developed written communication. The invention of the wheel was also an important milestone that created the possibility of longer-lasting goods. Although the use of the wheel has greatly diminished because of airplanes and other machines, it still plays a role today, especially in developing nations.
Art has always been an important part of culture, because each culture on the globe exhibits variation of it. One of the most famous paintings in the world is The Mona Lisa. This painting is one of the first major works of art to use the human form. Leonardo da Vinci is commonly known as the father of the Renaissance. His influential work remains a benchmark for other artists. Because of his unique skills and his mastery of the human form, he is the one most commonly associated with Renaissance art.
Today, even though there is much less emphasis on painting, architects, sculptors and even musicians exhibit a great deal of skill through their work. There is a great deal of art being made by humans throughout history. As long as there are people on the planet who make art, there will be art around. There is no way to stop the creative process from happening.
